We all know that when you are trying to follow your fast weight loss diets, it always feels like all is sabotage the moment you step out of your own kitchen and eat out. Especially in today’s fast paced environment making healthier food choices become harder and harder as unhealthy food becomes more easily accessed. The follow are some tips that you can consider when eating out without giving up on your fast weight loss diets. Many of these are easy to adapt so it would not feel like a huge sacrifice which in turn is more likely for you to keep on your diet.
* Avoid adding salt, which is a source of sodium which is detrimental to fast weight loss diets.
* As a beverage choice consider ordering water and or any beverages without added sugar such as unsweetened iced tea. Although Diet soda is a considerably better choice than normal soda, the official take on aspartame is still 50/50 so I would proceed with caution.
* Consider finishing a glass of water before you begin your meal and you are more likely to feel fuller before finishing your main dish.
* Always ask for salad dressing on the side. Don’t pour all the dressing into the salad, but instead use your fork to dip into the dressing and then into the salad. You get all the taste but none of the added calories and not to mention guilt.
* Choose main dishes that include vegetables, preferably in a steamed form without being drenched in butter or lard.
* Look for the words steamed, grilled or broiled when ordering your food and be wary of sauces especially in gravy or creamy forms.
* Avoid adding salt, which is a source of sodium which is detrimental to fast weight loss diets.
* A good trick for portion control is to set aside a portion of the dish immediately before you even eat it.
* Opt for smaller portions, side dish portions or even share dishes with friends. You are more likely not overeat with less temptations.
* Try to avoid all you can eat buffets and instead order from the menu. This effectively removes the temptation to overeat.
* Opt for fruits for desserts instead of high sugar high fattening desserts such as ice cream or cheese cake.
* Ask for whole wheat bread for sandwich choices, if unavailable consider eating only 1/2 of the bun e.g. open faced sandwich
* Try to pack fruits, vegetables, low-fat cheese string, or a handful of unsalted non roasted nuts to help curb your hunger and divert you away from unhealthy snacks.
These are some tips that you can consider implementing in your fast weight loss diets. Be sure that if any other appear to be “difficult”, remember that you can slowly implement these changes so they don’t become as big of a shock to your diet. Slowly but surely these choices will make a big impact to your life and will become second nature.
